Will a Pickleball Court Fit in Your Yard?

Compare your clear rectangular space with current pickleball playing-surface dimensions in either orientation.

01 Measure your clear space

Use one unobstructed rectangle after allowing for known property restrictions. Paths, seating, fence posts and other site features are separate.

This tests geometric fit only. It does not establish zoning, accessibility, drainage or construction feasibility.

Understand the dimensions

The 2026 USA Pickleball rulebook specifies a 20 × 44-foot marked court, a minimum 30 × 60-foot total playing surface and a 34 × 64-foot recommendation for new construction. The recommendation provides 7 feet beside each sideline and 10 feet behind each baseline when centered. USA Pickleball rules

Your available rectangle must be clear of required setbacks and obstructions. Add paths, gates, seating, accessible circulation where applicable, utilities and other amenities outside the playing surface as the design requires. An equal square footage in a narrow shape does not necessarily fit.

Read the dimension guide and permit guide before making a construction decision. Take the measured result to the instant budget estimate.
